PHILADELPHIA, PA – Sellers Dorsey announced today that two of the firm’s Medicaid experts, Billy Millwee and Kip Piper, were invited to present at the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Medicaid Conference on October 1, 2014. Millwee and Piper, both former state Medicaid Directors, have extensive experience in the financing, operations, and administration of Medicaid managed care programs. AHIP’s annual conference convenes senior health plan executives, government policy makers, and thought leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the rapidly growing $500 billion Medicaid program. The conference will be held at Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel at 999 Ninth Street, NW in Washington, DC.
Billy Millwee will present at a session entitled Keys to Success in Achieving Your Strategic Quality Goal. The session, sponsored by MedSolutions, will highlight best practices from states and plans to achieve quality goals, improve clinical outcomes, and manage costs. The session will be held between 11:45 am and 12:35 pm.
With the 100% federal Medicaid match for primary care physician services sunsetting at the end of this year, Kip Piper will provide his perspective on this and other efforts to improve access to primary care services in Medicaid. This session entitled Improving Access to Primary Care in Medicaid: Recent Initiatives will be held between 2:30 pm and 3:20 pm.
